Music artists and bands

Our international music catalog includes names and alternative names from MusicBrainz, alongside our curated list. We use its core artist data under CC0 1.0. The catalog is a snapshot, not the complete MusicBrainz database, and does not imply endorsement by MusicBrainz or any artist. Tags, ratings and search scores are not included.

World cities

City names and alternative names are adapted from GeoNames, under CC BY 4.0. We select populated places with at least 15,000 residents, exclude districts and disused places, and merge names into our curated catalog. Names and aliases are normalized for answer matching. Smaller places in the curated list remain available. GeoNames does not endorse the game.

How matching works

Capitalization, common punctuation and Latin accents do not affect matching. Known native-script names and alternative spellings can resolve to a catalog name. Letter rules are checked against that catalog name, which is shown in your round result. Ambiguous aliases do not silently choose between different names. Small spelling mistakes may produce a suggestion that you must confirm.

Catalogs are finite and may contain omissions or errors. Not finding a name is not proof that it is invalid. You can report missing entries using More → Report a bug.

The lists are bundled with the game. Your answers are not sent to MusicBrainz or GeoNames for validation.

Food pools

Dishes, desserts, cheese varieties and restaurant chains are manually curated vocabulary lists. Restaurant chains include cafes and fast-food brands. These are finite lists, not an exhaustive directory. No origin or dietary attributes are inferred.
