OD/SPBACK TO THE GAME ↗
FIELD NOTES / LAST UPDATED 19 OCTOBER 2026

Your words.
Your data.

Who is responsible?

ODDLY SPECIFIC is operated by Felix Albrecht, Switzerland. Contact the person responsible for data processing at [email protected]. This notice covers the independent game hosted on Cloudflare Pages, including its connected custom domain.

What stays in your browser?

We use localStorage, a browser-storage technology, to remember your Daily attempt, answers, hints, points, Random Play progress and statistics, player name, sound preference and example friends list. Game answers and scores are not sent to the account server or shared with other players. Rankings and friends are demonstration data. If you sign in, your online player profile is separate from these browser records. The essential account session is also remembered in localStorage so you can stay signed in.

This storage provides the requested saved-game features and local Daily limit. We do not use it for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can block site storage in your browser, but saved progress and the Daily game will then be unavailable.

Open browser-data settings ↗ to review or delete this game's local data. Deletion affects this website's origin only; data saved on a previous preview domain must be cleared on that domain.

What happens when the site loads?

The website is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc. Requests necessarily provide network and device information such as your IP address, requested URL, request time and browser information. Cloudflare processes service data to deliver and secure the website. We have not added advertising pixels, third-party fonts or a separate visitor-analytics script to the game.

Cloudflare operates a global network. Service data may be processed in the United States and other countries where Cloudflare and its subprocessors operate, rather than exclusively in Switzerland. Cloudflare's Data Processing Addendum describes the contractual safeguards for Swiss transfers. Its current privacy policy and subprocessor list explain its service-data processing and locations.

We use the separate account database described below. We do not run a separate application-server access log. Cloudflare may retain operational and security data under its service policies; these data are not the local game records described above. Infrastructure security features may use necessary browser storage or cookies when a security check is required.

Online accounts and Google sign-in

Accounts are optional. We use Supabase, Inc. for authentication and player profiles. The project database is hosted in AWS Europe (Ireland). We store your account identifier, email address, chosen player name and account timestamps. For email registration, Supabase receives your email and password over an encrypted connection and stores a password hash. The game does not store your plain-text password. Confirmation and password-reset messages are sent through Infomaniak, which processes the recipient address and message for delivery. See Infomaniak’s privacy policy. Google sign-in also supplies a Google identifier and basic profile information, which may include your name and profile image. It does not grant the game access to Gmail, Drive or Calendar. No Google password is received by the game.

We use this data to authenticate you and save your player profile. Scores and Daily attempts remain in your browser and are not yet synchronized between devices. Essential session tokens are stored in your browser; signing out removes the local session. Profiles can be changed or permanently deleted from the account panel. Deleting browser data does not delete your online account. We retain account data until you delete your account, subject to applicable legal requirements and the provider's backup retention.

Supabase and its subprocessors may process service and account data internationally, including in the United States. See its privacy policy and Data Processing Addendum for processing and transfer safeguards. Google handles sign-in under its privacy policy. The separate Google support group receives only messages you send to it; its conversations and membership are private.

Bug reports and feature requests

The feedback form prepares an email in your own mail app. Your message is sent only when you choose to send it there. The draft contains your message, the site's origin and the current category. It does not automatically include your game history.

If you send it, we receive your email address, message and any information you include. Our contact mailbox is provided by Microsoft Outlook. Microsoft may process email internationally, including in the United States; see its privacy statement. We use correspondence to answer your request, investigate problems and improve the game. We retain it as needed for those purposes and for any applicable legal obligations. Please do not include passwords or sensitive personal information.

Your choices and rights

You can delete the game's browser data through data settings or your browser controls. This does not delete email correspondence or hosting-provider logs. To ask about personal data held by us, or request access, correction or deletion, contact [email protected]. Rights and applicable exceptions depend on the law and the data involved. You can contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner about data-protection concerns.

This service is operated from Switzerland and takes the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection into account. Other mandatory laws may apply depending on the circumstances. This notice will be updated if the game introduces real shared rankings, analytics or advertising.
